We conduct an annual INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION by the name of KIDDIBETES with the motto –“Kids Stop Diabetes”. The competitions include elocutions, Quiz contest, skit & Drawing competition for children in Madurai city with a theme of diabetes prevention and awareness. Our aim of this program is to create awareness amongst children and their parents to help prevent diabetes in future generations.

KIDDIBETES 2016 included 19 schools and 500 children participated in the various events.

KIDDIBETES 2017 was conducted with 867 children participating from 35 schools.

KIDDIBETES 2018 was held with 1250 children participating from 39 schools.

KIDDIBETES 2019 was held with 1400 children participating from 42 schools.

KIDDIBETES 2020 was a state level Virtual quiz program with 1018 children participating from all over TamilNadu.

Dreams Foundation has previously conducted similar multiple public screening health camps for the general public in many towns and cities including Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Paramakudi, Aruppukottai, Sattur, Rajapalayam, Usilampatti, Aandipatti, Manamadurai, and Ramanathapuram.

The aims of these camps are to create an awareness of the high incidence of non-communicable diseases like thyroid disorders and diabetes in the community. Education on preventive aspects including lifestyle measures was stressed through group sessions with professional dieticians and professional experts.

Continuing Medical Education activities are held for general practitioners, nursing staff and junior doctors on a regular basis. An annual event called “CASH” is held annually since 2014 in the second week of December involving external speakers.

A Diabetes Update was held on February 2018 for doctors with invited faculty from Chennai, Trichy and Madurai.

A Thyroid Update was held in the city of Ramnad in August 2018 to create awareness about thyroid disorders amongst general practitioners and non-specialists.

A Diabetes Update was held on 31 October 2018 for doctors with invited faculty from Trivandrum and Madurai.

A Diabetes Update was held on March 2019 for doctors with invited faculty from Chennai and Madurai.

Dreams Foundation collaborates with various academic institutions across the world in partnership with AshwinSpeciality Hospital to help provide genetic test support and expertise for rare disorders.

Dreams Foundation is involved with collaborative research activities and multicentric studies in endocrine and diabetes-related disorders. Various national observational studies are being carried out under the auspices of the Madurai Dreams Foundation.

Our national collaborators include institutions like Aravind Eye Hospital – Madurai, KMCH – Coimbatore, IIT – Chennai, Hinduja RIA laboratories – Mumbai.

The foundation provides financial support to people from a low socio-economic status by providing funding support for investigative and treatment modalities for diabetes, endocrine and metabolic disorders with the help of funders and research collaborators.

Kids with Type 1 Diabetes are provided free Insulin vials based on the economic status and through support from the pharmaceutical industry. Special blood investigations related to Diabetes are funded by the foundation and medical consultation is provided free of cost.
